  • &main1=KATO Aromatic
Established in 1971, KATO Aromatic is the first company to carry the KATO name. Only a few years after its inception, the company established itself as a world leader in the distillation and extraction of essential oils, at one time commanding a 55%25 global market share in Jasmine concretes and absolutes. Our success was mainly attributable to the relentless focus on delivering a quality product ina time when "quality" was an emerging concept in the industry. Today, KATO Aromatic quality and experience is world renowned and second to none.
Based in Harraneya, near the pyramids at Giza, KATO Aromatic is producing and exporting more than 60 essential oils, flavors, and fragrances with applications in a diverse array of industries such as the dairy, beverage, bakery, and meat industries. Besides the company's main manufacturing facilities, several of our factories are situated amidst the plantations in the rich delta in 'Qutur' and 'Kom El Naggar' to shorten the period between flower picking and its subsequent distillation and/or extraction to ensure high flower oil content, and superior quality.
Integrating forward, our relatively new creams and hotel-room amenities division has seen exponential growth since its inception five years ago. The division is a one-stop-shop supplying to hotels their room requirements from soaps, shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, and body creams to shower caps, slippers, and sewing kits. With over a 50%25 local market share catering to most major hotel chains in Egypt, the division is now successfully focused on regional expansion and has already won over major key accounts.
In an industry where formulae are guarded more closely than pink diamonds, KATO Aromatic's leadership has been driven by two main factors; continuous research and development with multiple experimental sites for our oil-producing flowers along the Nile Valley and years of accumulated experience with a stable force of first-class engineers and technicians.
    &main2=National Food Company
Geared mainly for the export markets, and among Egypt's leading and oldest food and beverage manufacturers, National Food Company enjoys unparalleled quality levels from its firm commitment to manufacture excellence.
NFC was established in 1984 as a joint venture with Corn Products Corporation (CPC) to manufacture an impressive lineup of famous international brands such as Alsa jams and juices, Knorr dried soups and bouillon cubes, and Buitoni pasta, allunder license from some of the world's leading food companies. A few years later, KATO Investment bought CPC's share in the company, and with the acquired expertise went on to produce and market its own brands.
Only the best ingredients and the finest of raw materials are used in NFC's products. Jams, natural nectars, syrups, and preserves are all made from the rich and delicious Egyptian fruits. Pasta is manufactured from 100 percent Durum Wheat Semolina sourced from the world' s leading suppliers. And finally, dried soups and bouillon cubes abide by an 'all-natural' ingredients policy.
In the past few years, National Food Company has enjoyed quantum leaps in the export market. NFC has been successful in penetrating the most difficult western and eastern markets including Japan.
&main3=The Modern Company for Manufacturing Soap and Detergents
With a total yearly capacity of nearly 40,000 metric tons of both soaps and soap noodles, The Modern Soap Company is the largest private manufacturing facility in Egypt. It is also one of very few private facilities capable of manufacturing soaps from the very basic of raw materials, namely tallow and coconut oil.
Because of Modern Soap's undivided attention to quality, it has been chosen to supply soap and/or soap noodles to various existing multinational companies in Egypt, such as Proctor and Gamble, Henkel, and Colgate Palmolive for their local market needs. Modern Soap also produces its own brands of high and low end toilet soap, laundry soap, and baby soap. The company also supplies pure Glycerin (the natural byproduct of soap) in the local market with a minimum purity level of 99.5%25. Finally, the company acts as a soap supplier to KATO Aromatic's room-amenities division.
The Modern Soap Company has become the first subsidiary to relocate to KATO Investment's state-of-the-art industrial complex in the 6th of October Industrial City. There, the company will serve as a model for its sister companies, NFC and KATO Aromatic, that are also relocating and expanding to our new manufacturing complex.

    &main5=Giza National Dehydration
Famous for their distinct aroma and flavor, Egyptian onion, leek, and garlic are the company's three main products. Established in 1978 as a joint venture with McCormick, today, GND is a wholly owned subsidiary and Egypt's largest private producer and exporter of dehydrated onions commanding over 45%25 export market share.

    &main6=KATO for Agricultural Development
On a small agricultural land area of 640 acres, KATO Investment is testing the potential of agricultural development and the fit of the industry within the Group's activities. The output is mainly Mango and Citrus fruits. Only a few years ago, KATO for Agricultural Development introduced the Stevia plant, and became the first to grow Stevia in Egypt.
Stevia "honey leaf" - the sweetest substance on earth!
It is a shrub native to Paraguay and used for over 1,500 years by the Guarani Indians. The whole leaf contains numerous phytonutrients and trace minerals. A good quality leaf is estimated to be 30 times sweeter than sugar cane or sucrose, without negative effects. It can sweeten any drink with no calories! No carbohydrates! No tooth decay! And is diabetic safe! Stevia nourishes the pancreas and does not increase blood glucose levels, making it not only safe for diabetics but also beneficial. Since there are no calories or carbohydrates, Stevia is an excellent weight loss aid. It does not contain the negative side effects reported with the use of artificial sweeteners including aspartame. Studies show that by adding Stevia to your diet on a regular basis, it helps minimize the hunger sensations, cravings for sweets and fatty foods, aide in digestion, decrease hypertension without affecting normal blood pressure, stabilize blood glucose levels, shorten recovery time from cold and flu and aide in addictions to tobacco and alcohol. When used in toothpaste and mouthwash, cavities and gum disease are reduced due to Stevia's antibacterial properties.
The active constituents of Stevia are considered by the world's leading food scientists as the "sweeteners of the future". Countries in which the currently used artificial sweeteners are on the brink of being banned are desperately tryingto find new, safe, non-caloric sweeteners. After extensive research, Stevia has been safely used for over 30 years in Japan. Japanese manufacturers use Stevia in cola, pickling, gum, ice cream and a wide variety of other foods. Stevia will one day have a dramatic impact on all countries of the world.
    &main7=The Future of Manufacturing
KATO Investment takes real pride in introducing its brand new, state-of-the-art 154,000m² industrial complex. Located in the fourth industrial zone in the 6th of October Industrial City, the complex will be the new home of five older factories; KATO Aromatic's flavors and fragrances, creams, and hotel amenities; National Food Company's jams and juices, bouillon cubes, dried soups, and pasta; and finally Modern Soap Company' s soap manufacturing lines.
The area is divided into a factory compound, a warehouses compound and a free area for possible expansion. With a vision for the future, a complete data network connects all areas with an optic fiber backbone. The high bandwidth allows for data, voice, IP-telephony, and video conferencing.
The administration building connects with the factories via an elevated and sealed glass-in-concrete tunnel for visitors so as not to disturb the manufacturing processes. Our world class warehouses compound is the best in Egypt expanding over an area of 33,000m². Unused dry and cold stores, as well as our shock-freezing tunnel, are rented out to FMCG multinationals.
KATO Investment hopes that with this complex it will set yet another example for Egypt while supporting in its economic growth and well being.
